Best Way to Store the Dress Question:, I was engaged and planning my
wedding and had already purchased my gown. But three weeks ago my fiancé called off the engagement (that's another long story). Now I have a wedding dress I have to store and keep in good shape. I don't know the best way to store the dress. If I keep it hung up I don't have room because of its length. I just don't know what to do with this dress.
Thanks Becky Dear Becky:
Your gown will long be a prized and treasured
possession..... Treat it as such, by having it immediately wrapped in acid free paper and put away in a keepsake box. Following your wedding, you can again use the box to store it for many years for a future bride. Whatever you do, do not leave it hanging in a closet. The weight of the gown can damage the shoulders, both by stretching the fabric or tearing the net. Never store a gown for long term in a plastic bag. Plastic contains formaldehyde and can
cause your gown to yellow over time. Protect your investment! Best Wishes,
