Unique Wedding Ideas Page 4

21. We had a traditional Jewish wedding where the ceremony and reception were both at the same place.  We had about 225 people and thought the receiving line would be very long and boring.  Instead of the traditional receiving line, after the ceremony when the guests came into the lobby to enjoy some drinks and food, we made a grand entrance down the staircase and took a position in the room.  Guests were allowed to come and stand in the line at their own convenience if they wanted to.  This allowed them the freedom to enjoy this time rather than waste it standing in line.

22. I will be getting married in April, the time when people are starting to get serious about their gardens (up here!).  I am an avid gardener.  As party favours, I am going to wrap 3 or 4 bulbs in tulle with a special note attached via ribbon.  After reading all of the ideas here, I found a great one to attach the note to the bulbs - half a business card with our names, date, etc plus the special note with a hole punched in it to attach to the bulbs with satin ribbon!!  SS

23. We are planning an fall evening wedding.  We plan to have the maid of honor and the bridesmaids carry a cobalt blue depression glass candle stick
with a peglite in it so it will burn a votive candle of a color in our wedding.  This will prevent wax from spilling on the girls dresses.  The candle stick will be decorated with a bow, greenery and a single rose bud.  This will be a very nice look, with the candles lit, as they make their enterence in the low light of the church. This is also less exspensive then a bouquet, plus it will double as part of their gift.

24. My fiancĂ© and I both have a daughter from previous relationships, so at our wedding to symbolize the joining of our 2 families we are going to include them in the ceremony and exchange charm bracelets with each others child.  The girls are going to walk down the aisle together, and stand up front with the rest of the wedding party. The bracelets will each have a charm of the wedding date, big sis/lil sis, their birth dates, and birthstones. On each holiday we are going to add to the bracelets, as well as; on our anniversary. This way the girls will feel that we accept them to love and cherish forever as well.

25. My fiancé and I like to be unique so we needed interesting ideas that also fit our extremely tight budget. This is my second wedding and his first so it was important to him to keep a lot of the traditions intact. For our guest book we have framed a picture of ourselves, which is not really unique except that it is a black and white photo taken in old Victorian style clothing. For our favors we found antique look mini frames at the dollar store (3 for one dollar) and in these we framed the same photo and in some we also framed a family portrait in the same style with us and my kids from the previous marriage and there will be one for each guest.

26. We are on a tight budget, so instead of flowers, my mother and my sister, who are my attendants, and I are wearing beautiful holiday pins.
